Founded in 2004, Pangea Environmental Services, Inc. provides top-quality, reliable, and cost-effective environmental and engineering services. We are a small boutique business with large firm capabilities, thanks to our partnerships with experts across the industry. We specialize in serving clients in the Bay Area and Northern California. Our office is located in a beautiful historic building (above) in Berkeley, California. The park setting and modern office renovation is a relaxing and inspirational work space for our employees… and their children and furry pet companions. In a tribute to the current and former building artists, our office includes a mural with geological imagery from local artist Nathan Richard Phelps and a large moss globe in the shape of the Pangea supercontinent.
Our president and principal engineer Bob Clark-Riddell brings his 30+ years of experience to every Pangea project and every senior manager has over 25+ years of experience in the local environmental remediation. Our Key Leaders
Bob Clark-Riddell
President and Principal Engineer
Bob Clark-Riddell has over 30 years of experience in the environmental consulting industry in Northern California. In 1994, he co-founded Cambria Envronmental Technology, Inc., which he helped grow to over $11 million in annual revenues. He previously worked at Weiss Associates, ICF/Kaiser Engineers, U.S. Postal Service, and the Superior Electric Company. He earned his engineering degree from the University of Pennsylvania. He is a Registered Civil Engineer in California. Bob manages all industry sectors and services offered by Pangea. Bob enjoys the field at Strawberry Park outside Pangea’s office, so feel free to challenge him to a game of Bocci ball, frisbee, or soccer!
Ron Scheele
Principal Geologist, Professional Geologist
Ron Scheele has over 25 years of experience in the environmental consulting industry in Northern California. Ron manages work within all industry sectors and services offered by Pangea, including oversight of O&M coordination for our remediation and mitigation systems. Ron has worked closely with Principal Bob Clark-Riddell for over 12 years with both Pangea and Cambria. Ron previously worked at Cambria Environmental Technologies, Conestoga Rovers Associates, GHD Engineering, and Alton Geoscience. Ron was an avid rock climber and appreciates igneous and metamorphic formations, as well as his Old English Sheepdog.
Tim Naughton
Principal Engineer
Tim Naughton has provided environmental consulting services in California for over 20 years. He joined Pangea in 2021 as a principal engineer managing all industry sectors and services the company offers, including environmental site assessment, remediation, vapor mitigation, and environmental litigation support. Tim previously worked at URS Corporation/AECOM, Roux Associates, and Endpoint Consulting. When Tim is not traveling to visit new places in the U.S. and abroad, you may catch him playing the drums in his rock band at various venues in Northern California.
Karina Gillette
Project Geologist, Professional Geologist
Karina Gillette has 10 years of experience in the environmental consulting industry in Northern California. Karina specializes in site investigation services and vapor intrusion evaluation. Karina worked previously at ETIC Engineering. You may encounter Karina singing and hiking in the redwoods or rock collecting.
Morgan Gillies
Senior Project Manager
Morgan Gillies became Pangea’s first employee over 16 years ago, and has 25 years of experience in the environmental consulting industry in Northern California. Morgan specializes in managing and performing site assessment and remediation services. Morgan worked previously at Blaine Tech Services as a senior manager of field services, specializing in groundwater sampling. You can find Morgan basking in his remodeled backyard with the dogs, kids, and a glass of wine.
Erik Lervaag
Engineer and Senior Technician
Erik Lervaag has 25 years of experience as an engineer and technician in the environmental consulting industry in Northern California and Florida. Erik specializes in sampling of all site media, soil excavation, remedial feasibility testing, and installation/operation of remediation and mitigation systems. Erik worked previously at Clearwater Group and Carter Environmental Services. Let Erik regale you with odd field experiences… and tales of salmon fishing, construction, and survival in Alaska.
